2009 Summer Reading Program
  Registration and Reading

How the Program Works

Sign up, May 26 - 30, to read during the summer until July 3rd and earn a Summer Reading Program T-Shirt.

You pick how many minutes you will read and what you want to read during the summer, books, magazines, comics, etc. Set a goal to read at least 10 hours during the five weeks and turn in you signed reading log by July 3rd to qualify for a FREE T-SHIRT. Reading logs must be turned in by 5 p.m. on July 3 with your goal met in order to receive a FREE T-shirt.

Pre-Readers up to children entering 6th grade are encouraged to sign-up, and 7th - 12th grade readers can sign up for the "Express Yourself" program.

Teen Readers Sign up for Express Yourself. Reach your reading goal and earn a tee shirt. 

Fun activities for teens in photography, journalism, music, and more.  Do you recite poetry, yodel, play the guitar?  Pick up a sign-up form for our ‘We’ve Got Talent Show’.

Thursday, June 4 at 2:30 p.m.     Fiddlin' Around with Emile & Chris. 
Accomplished violinists, this duo will be sharing their talents in a fun, musical activity for kids.

CosgroveFriday, June 5 at 2:30 p.m.     Kid Rocker Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove
Mr. Cosgrove has released 8 kid cd's, many of them receiving Parents Choice recommendations.  His live performances insure that kids will have a laughably good time.

Monday, June 8 at 9:30 a.m.    Art for Little Hands
This is an art project session for children toddler through entering first grade.  Wear play clothes, as it could get messy!

Tuesday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m.     Something Artsy with local artist Saundra Koochel.
This is a RESERVATIONS ONLY activity geared to children second through sixth grades.

Friday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m.     Dance-a-Rama with Kaela & Company
This activity is for children toddler through entering kindergarten.  Come do all your favorite dances

Friday, June 17 at 3:05 p.m.     Be There & Be Square Dancing
Kathryn Russell will join us to teach children square dance steps. Come join us for a toe-tapping good time.

Thursday, June 18 at 6:00 p.m.    Hip Hop with Kaela & Company.
At 6 p.m., children ages 6 to 10 are invited to learn to Hip Hop

Thursday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m.    Hip Hop with Kaela & Company.
At 7 p.m., kids ages 10 and older are invited to learn to Hip Hop

Wednesday, June 24 at 3:30 p.m.    SKIPPYJON JONES in person and in the 'fur'.

Thursday, June 25 at 6:00 p.m.     We've Got Talent Show
Summer Reading participants will showcase their talent at this 90 minute event.
