A Statement on Downloading and Burning music

It is legal to make a copy of a CD or parts of a CD that you own for your own private, non-commercial use.

If you sell or give away a copy of a copyrighted recording without the copyright owner's permission (the musician or the record company), you may be prosecuted.

Downloading illegally distributed files is piracy. (see copyright policy)

There are sites on the Internet where you can legally download music, either by paying a subscription and/or a fee per track (part of which will be given to the artist or record company) or by downloading music that the artist has made available for download for free.
